Fashion Friday: Smiling Stiletto at Boston Fashion Week

Recently, I photographed a fabulous event for Smiling Stiletto at Copley Place in Boston. The event showcased fall fashions from Banana Republic, Bebe, Cache, Tumi, Shoe Woo, Elie Tahari, and Karen Millen as a pre-Boston Fashion Week show. The models were all Smiling Stiletto shoe club members and all the ticket proceeds were donated to Project Smile and the Simon Youth Foundation. Lisa Donavan, from Kiss 108's Matty in the Morning show hosted the event, which also featured Skinny Girl cocktails, Cameron Hughes wine, and super cute cupcakes by Sweet M's Bake Shop. As a secret judge for "Best in Shoe" for the night, I helped select the contestants for the competition where attendees strutted their stuff on the runway for first, second, and third place prizes.Congratulations to Smiling Stiletto and the crew for pulling off such a fun, fashionable night out.

The theme for the night was definitely RED and LEOPARD. Here are a few of the highlights. What do you think?

Fashion Friday: Designer Spotlight on Yellow Clover

This week on Fashion Friday, I want to feature new looks from Yellow Clover by Sarah Elizabeth. This was one of my favorite collections from Style Week and I just had to share them with you.

"Yellow Clover by sarah elizabeth is a collection of unique, statement making pieces. Sarah aspires to create unique garments that people look at and love but are not quite sure why. She focuses on designing clothing for ladies who do crossword puzzles in ink and live each day one at a time. The Yellow Clover lady is one who searches for clothing that will not only express her unique personality but is also functional and comfortable. Discover each garment's exquisite hand detailing, true quality craftmanship, and the full story behind each item..."

In 2007, armed with a diploma in fashion design from Helen Lefeaux, Sarah Prost dove straight into designing for her company, Yellow Clover by sarah elizabeth. She believes beauty includes playfulness and thus creates garments that are lively, whimsical, and carry a feminine, vintage feel. She has been known to re-work pieces into something completely new and utilizes retro prints, fabrics, and notions. Known for her true quality craftsmanship, Sarah mixes exquisite hand detailing and a flirty style fused with innovation.

Yellow Clover by sarah elizabeth has been featured in numerous publications ranging from newspapers to fashion magazines. She has showcased her one-of-a-kind statement pieces at The Wearable Art Awards in Vancouver, BC, StyleWeek Providence, and The Liberty Hotel.

Sarah Prost is also the winner of the Ovations for the Cure's Teal Dress Challenge for which she designed a teal dress for charity.

Newport Senior Portraits - High School Photography

Saturday, I headed down to Newport RI for Derrick's senior portraits. Little did I know major roads were closed and I almost didn't make it in time for the sunlight. Luckily, the view was gorgeous and the location was perfect for the shots we wanted. Derrick was a great model and the result was that we got some really nice images.
Good luck in you senior year... Hope you enjoy the photos!

One with mom.

And his super cute girlfriend.

I will end with the most perfect sunset I have ever seen.

Fashion Fridays: Fashion's Night Out 2011 - Fashion Photographer

Did anyone make it out to Fashion's Night Out 2011? This was the first year that Boston was inolved with Vogue's big event that originated in NYC. This year, stores in over 250 cities across the world participating, making it the largest event so far. I made it out to the Natick Collection and wanted to share some of my favorite shots with you. Enjoy!

Tiffany's had a fun LOVE theme for the event. They gave me a special showing of their favorite peices from the new collection and I just LOVE the ring! What do you think?

They also had some awesome treats from Baker's Best.

The Betsey Johnson models were having a blast hanging out at the event. Which one is your favorite outfit?

Vera Bradley was giving out free tote bags. Customers could receive one by either designing their own purse or by telling the camera why the love Vera Bradley. I thought that was a fun idea!

Local author, Wendy Polins, sold autographed copies of her new book Fare Forward. I highly recommend you check her out. She is also a professor at Salem State University. Pretty cool!

At NM, there were also mini cupcakes from Cakeology that were to die for!

I will end with the fun and outgoing Prada fragrance model I met at the event.

Hope you enjoyed this week's Fashion Friday... See you next time!
